The Science
Behind the Supply

Medical radioisotope production requires multiple distinct disciplines working in coordination. Production is not defined by a single technology, but by the controlled interaction of systems that must perform consistently under tightly managed conditions.

Niowave has developed these capabilities in-house over time, building depth across accelerator operation, isotope production, and radiochemical processing, each defined by its own expertise, controls, and performance requirements.

This structure allows for control of production parameters, ongoing process refinement, and the ability to work through technical challenges with a level of context and experience developed over time. The result is a production environment designed to maintain consistency, support scale, and ensure that isotope supply performs as required across clinical and commercial use.

Accelerator Technology

Accelerator performance defines the starting point for medical isotope production. It determines beam quality, system efficiency, and the consistency of irradiation conditions that follow.

Niowave designs, builds, and operates its own superconducting linear accelerators, maintaining direct control over system configuration, performance, and maintenance. This control allows production parameters to be adjusted and refined in response to target behavior, isotope requirements, and process conditions.

In-house development also allows improvements to be continuous and implemented directly within the production environment. The result is an accelerator platform designed to support consistent irradiation, reliable output, and integration with downstream processing under regulated production conditions.
